KADAK Announces KwikNet TCP/IP Stack Support
for Analog Devices' Blackfin DSP and VisualDSP++ Kernel
VANCOUVER, CANADA - November 13, 2002 -- KADAK Products Ltd.
announced today that KADAK's
KwikNet® TCP/IP Stack and all
of its options are now available for use with Analog Devices'
BlackfinTM digital signal processor (DSP)
and VisualDSP++TM kernel (RTOS).
The KwikNet TCP/IP Stack brings network support to a VisualDSP++ Kernel
(VDK) application created within the VisualDSP++
Integrated Development Environment.
KwikNet has been tested and is ready for use with ADI's
Blackfin ADSP-21535 DSP and VDK kernel on the
Momentum Data Systems Eagle-35 Hardware Development Platform.
KADAK's KwikNet device driver for the Intel 82559 Ethernet controller
on the Eagle-35 board provides Ethernet network service
at 10Mbps and 100Mbps.
KADAK has also released its KwikNet device driver for the
Standard Microsystems Corporation (SMSC) LAN91C111 or
LAN91C113 Ethernet controller.
The driver is provided ready for use with the LAN91C113 controller
connected to an Analog Devices Blackfin ADSP-21535 processor
by a 16-bit interface.
The Analog Devices Blackfin DSP is a high performance 16-bit
dual MAC DSP that also includes 32-bit RISC MCU functionality
within the same processor core. Blackfin DSPs are designed for
ease of use by offering both highly efficient C/C++ programmability
and also efficient execution of signal processing and control code.
The Blackfin DSP family addresses a broad range of markets including
Digital Imaging, Digital Cameras, Networking, Modems, Telemetry and
Instrumentation, Portable Devices, Consumer Electronics and
Automotive applications.
"Analog Devices is pleased that KADAK has added support to KwikNet
for Analog Devices' Blackfin DSP and VisualDSP++ development environment,"
said Gerald McGuire, product line director, general purpose DSPs,
Analog Devices, Inc.
"KADAK's KwikNet implemented on ADI's Blackfin DSP architecture
offers a powerful combination for enabling networking functionality
in embedded systems."
The KwikNet for Blackfin TCP/IP Stack enables the embedded system
developer to add networking features to DSP products with a minimum of
time and expense. The process is simple. The developer describes each physical
network and its device interface using the KwikNet Configuration Manager,
a Windows utility which ensures that KwikNet is always properly configured
for use.
KwikNet includes support for the TCP, UDP, IP, ICMP, ARP, DHCP (BOOTP) and
DNS protocols along with a complete TCP sockets interface. SLIP and Ethernet
network drivers are ready for use with serial and Ethernet device drivers.
The following optional KwikNet components are also available:
PPP, TFTP, FTP, HTTP, Telnet and SNMP.
Founded in 1978, KADAK Products Ltd. provides software developers
with the very best foundation for their embedded system products. KADAK's
AMXTM RTOS,
KwikNet® TCP/IP Stack and
KwikPegTM GUI are ready for use with a wide
range of software development tools and processors.
