KADAK Releases AMX 86 and AMX 386/ET RTOS
Supporting Paradigm 16 and 32-Bit 80x86 Tools
VANCOUVER, CANADA - November 15, 2001 - KADAK Products Ltd.
announced today that embedded 80x86 applications incorporating
KADAK's AMXTM RTOS can be
developed using the Paradigm Systems Inc. C/C++ 16 and 32-bit
software development tools.
Since 1983, AMX 86 has been widely used with 80x86 processors
operating in 16-bit real mode. AMX 386 has been in 32-bit
protected mode use since 1989. Today, these well-tested kernels
continue to offer the high degree of reliability for which KADAK
is renowned.
Paradigm Systems has been providing embedded system developers
with link, locate and debug tools since 1988. Now, Paradigm offers
its C/C++ compiler, assembler, librarian, linker, locator and
debugger, all with an easy to use
Windows® IDE
(Integrated Development Environment).
The AMX RTOS has been packaged to adapt seamlessly to this IDE,
making multitasking software development a straight-forward process.
Paradigm has enhanced its integrated, source-level debugger to be
AMX task-aware using the KwikLook debug tool from KADAK. With
KwikLook, you can examine the details of your AMX application while
stopped at breakpoints. You get to see the state of your system
from the AMX perspective without requiring a detailed understanding
of the internal AMX control structures.
The AMX real-time multitasking kernel (RTOS) is used in time
critical medical, telecommunication, data acquisition, industrial
control, robotics and aerospace applications. AMX 86 will be found
at the heart of 80x86 SoC designs such as the
PixelworksTM PW364 Image Processor.
KADAK's 32-bit AMX RTOS is the multitasking heart of PalmOS in
the award-winning PalmPilot®
personal digital assistant from Palm Inc.
Founded in 1978, KADAK Products Ltd. provides software developers
with the very best foundation for their embedded system products.
KADAK's AMX RTOS, KwikNet®
TCP/IP Stack and KwikPegTM GUI
are ready for use with a wide range of software development tools for
PowerPC®, 68K,
ColdFire®, 80x86, MIPS,
ARM, Thumb and StrongARM®
processors. For more information about KADAK,
