The AMX kernel has been enhanced to avoid the risks of task priority inversion. You can now use an AMX resource semaphore with priority inheritance to resolve this problem. The AMX Semaphore Manager will make sure that low priority tasks are not permitted to lock resources required by higher priority tasks for long periods of time. And best of all, AMX does not impose most of the restrictions inherent in the solutions offered by other RTOS vendors.
Testing and Prototyping
The KwikLook Fault Finder and TAPS (The AMX Prototyping System) are now bundled with all 32-bit versions of the AMX kernel. The KwikLook Fault Finder is now bundled with AMX 86.
The KwikLook Fault Finder enhances the ability of your debugger to test applications which incorporate KADAK's AMX RTOS. KwikLook adds true AMX task-awareness to a variety of popular Windows based debuggers.
The AMX Prototyping System (TAPS) can be used to test your 32-bit AMX application on a Windows® workstation. TAPS lets you test your AMX system even before your target hardware is available. TAPS is a fully functional AMX implementation including a real-time clock, ensuring that your tested system is ready for the final move to your embedded system.
KADAK's 25th Anniversary
Happy birthday, KADAK!
KADAK Products Ltd. turned 25 on March 17, 2003. I think we can safely say that KADAK holds the record as the longest lived independent RTOS company! That's right folks! If you know of another RTOS company from 1978 or earlier which is still alive and independent, give us a call and we will check it out.
Even more amazing, our name has never changed!
Our AMX RTOS was first released in 1980 and was advertised initially in Byte magazine. Now, KADAK provides the AMXTM RTOS, the KwikNet® TCP/IP Stack and the KwikPegTM GUI. Since 1980, AMX has been used worldwide at more than 2,500 development sites. One of the high profile products which uses AMX is the PalmPilot.
As part of our 25th Anniversary, KADAK participated in the production of a video clip for public television. We invite you to view an introduction to "Multitasking Kernels" as seen in this video clip from the American Business Review public television series.
